Fickle Friends – What a Time
‘What a Time’ is the first released single for Fickle Friends upcoming EP Weird Years (Season 1) EP and we are very excited about it! Out on 15 January, the EP aims to explore the story of the past three years since their Album ‘You Are Someone Else’, and it kicks off with some unapologetic escapist synth-pop. The Brighton-based quartet headlined Beyond the Woods Festival in 2018 and we can’t wait to hear what’s next. Check out the music video below, which they filmed and edited themselves.
Duccbod – Meet in the Middle
Lincoln-based Duccbod have released laid-back alternative track ‘Meet in the Middle’ this month, exploring a vast range influence from the likes of Tom Misch to Lil peep. He featured in this years’ Beyond the Woods Online Festival on BBC Music Introducing in Lincolnshire, and the track was produced by and featured members of The Pylons. Duccbod is currently in the process of writing and recording his debut EP ‘i breathe blue’, so watch this space!
Patawawa – Adadadaeya
Electronic trio Patawawa have brought up an absolute indie-disco anthem as their new infectious single in the lead up to their debut album. Recently played by John Kennedy on Radio X, the track is an exciting insight to what is to come. Patawawa graced the Beyond the Woods festival stage in 2018 and we’ve been obsessed ever since.
The Pylons – Grumble
Beyond the Woods legends The Pylons are back with their latest single ‘Grumble’, following the singles ‘Leaving’ and ‘Feel Good’. Written and produced in their home studio, ‘Grumble’ encapsulates all things good about indie-pop and has achieved BBC Music Introducing pick of the week on BBC Radio Lincolnshire. You can also listen back to hear their very own trumpet and keys player Joe Davies picks for BBC Music Introducing in Lincolnshire here https://t.co/uMjtESURbb?amp=1.
Martha Hill – Landslide
Martha Hill’s latest single Landside has come out this month and will feature on her upcoming EP ‘Summer Up North’, which will be released on October 23rd. The track featured as BBC Introducing track of the week on Radio 1 and follows the release of upbeat and gritty ‘Grilled Cheese’. Hill played the festival in 2018 and has gone on to record at the legendary Maida Vale Studios, appeared on Later…With Jools Holland and was tipped as one of BBC Introducing’s ‘Ones to Watch’.
Talkboy – Stupid Luck
Leeds-based indie six-piece Talkboy have released new single ‘Stupid Luck’, which is the first in the lead up to their up-coming EP. The dreamy, laid-back indie-pop single exudes everything we love about this band and we are looking forwarded to what’s coming in 2021!
Casey Lowry – Slow Pace
The latest up-beat summery bop ‘Slow Pace’ from Casey Lowry was released this month, making it his third single of 2020. The track has achieved radio play on BBC Music Introducing in both Sheffield and East Midlands. Lowry headlined the second stage at Beyond the Woods (formally JoeFest) in 2018.
Nick Wilson – Built For This
Nick Wilson’s captivating track ‘Built For This’ is the final song released alongside his 4-track EP ‘Love and Heartache’, which was released on 2 October. The EP explores the complexity of emotions which accompany romance and beautifully vocalising the lows and highs of relationships. The second track ‘Enough to Know You’ featured on Spotify’s ‘Most Beautiful Songs in the World’ playlist.
