Huge News for Holly Humberstone in BBC Sound Of Poll

We started Beyond The Woods as a way to support local musicians. Being in bands ourselves, we wanted to put on an event that brought Lincolnshire artists together to celebrate the massive amount of talent in our area.

Whilst, in recent years, we’ve booked a number of acts from further afield, we’ve still been working closely with our friends at BBC Introducing in Lincolnshire to make sure we’re showcasing some of the best local acts.

In 2018 a relatively new to the scene artist took to our stage and promptly blew everyone away. It’s safe to say that Holly Humberstone was a real standout at that year’s festival.

We’ve been keeping an eye on her journey ever since that summer, which has seen her perform at Glastonbury, support Lewis Capaldi at Wembley Arena, appear on Jimmy Kimmel in the US and break onto the Radio 1 daytime playlist. It’s fair to say she’s gone a long way since playing at our festival warmup gig at The West End Tap in Lincoln a month or two before BTW 2018.

She’s started 2021 with a bang having been announced as the runner up in the BBC’s Sound of 2021 poll – a prestigious poll of music critics with previous winners including Sigrid, Sam Smith and Jack Garratt.

It’s great to see a local act do so well and we know that her success is inspiring local musicians and blazing a trail for acts in our area. A big congrats from all of us at BTW HQ, we’re very proud to have had a small part in the story and we can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2021!

Below are a few photos from Holly’s set back in 2018. If you want to check her our live, and you really should, she’s announced a headline tour this June, including a stop off in Nottingham – tickets are available here.
